CA LOVE

It's Disneyland's younger sluttier sister. That's right, I said it and the land that used to be the Pinocchio or Timon parking lot is finally coming into it's own. I was lucky enough to have an annual pass growing up to the happiest place on earth. My sisters and I would get them every year for Christmas and we were even known to ditch school to gallivant around the park on a week day every now and then. These days Ange and I love going for a couple hours, grabbing a glass of wine and a corn dog to unwind on a Friday night. Summer has finally hit southern California and we decided to make a run to the park for a day in the sun. Here are a couple of photo's from the Grizzly River Rapids Ride. Enjoy.

FAIR ANTICS

What's so cool about the fair? Why do people want to spend their time and hard earned cash to eat a bunch of deep fried food, get spun around on rides built in a week operated by traveling Gypsy's and see the worlds largest cow for a dollar? Now that I think of it, that sounds awesome and I look forward to it every year! Here are some my favorite photos from this years trip to the OC fair. Good times had and the deep fried Oreo's were actually good. Imagine that.

VINTAGE MILITARY RULES

No secret, I love vintage shopping, almost as much as I love camo. There is just something about sifting through discarded clothing and the thrill of the hunt that will live in me forever. Vintage and camo together?...now were talking! OK, now I really sound like clothing geek, but I don't care...it rules! What I'm showcasing today is a killer vintage military warehouse on the outskirts of Los Angeles called K&K. By appointment only, you too can crawl through mounds upon mounds for military gear from every era. They offered to hand pick stuff and bring it to us, but where is the fun in that? Instead Milk and I grabbed a flash light, a mask and headed for the hills. We came out with some insane stuff, battle tested and smelling of napalm death, but great ideas non the less. Check it out if you ever get the chance!

FUN WITH FONTES

Who the heck is Steve Fontes you ask? He is one of the funniest dudes I know and an amazing designer in his own right. Why am I writing about him might be your next question...well, I miss the guy and it's as easy as that. His career path has taken him and his beautiful family down under to the gold coast of Australia. As I thumb through old photos I can't help think about the good times we shared working and traveling together. Mentors mean a lot to me...they are the reason I am who I am today and when it comes to my career as a clothing designer, Mr. Fontes is one of the guys that has helped shape me. Whether it was a boardshort, jacket or hoodie he always encouraged me to push past my comfort zone while reassuring me that I could pull it off no problem. Knowing I crushed it on a design and hearing him say "love your work" made my day. Oh and I think I owe my love for nights in Tokyo to him too. I had planned on making a book for him before he left of all the great pic's with him and the crew...it never really materialized, but I figure this would be the next best thing. So, cheers to you Fonty...all the boys miss you and get ready because we all plan to visit at some point. Cheers!

GETTY VILLA

Have you seen this place? Amazing art collection, amazing architecture and a view over looking the pacific ocean? I had never been and on a whim Angela and I pulled in Saturday afternoon to check it out. I'm going to keep this short and let the pictures do the talking. You need to check this place out for yourself...you will not regret it.
